The Greg and Camille Baroni Center for Government Contracting Student Ambassador Program
Who we are: The Greg and Camille Baroni Center for Government Contracting is the first-in-the-nation university center to address the business, policy and regulatory issues related to government contracting. As part of the School of Business at George Mason University, the Baroni Center is uniquely positioned to lead this effort by virtue of the composition of our faculty and students, as well as our geographic co-location with the federal government and many headquarters and major facilities of companies that make up the $500 billion government contracting industry.
Through Research, Education and Training, and Collaboration, the Baroni Center spurs innovation and entrepreneurship for government, industry, and academia to serve the public good.
To support the mission of Education and Training, we are pleased to invite students to apply to the Student Ambassador Program. George Mason University undergraduate students will be selected to participate in a cohort of fellow student ambassadors and will work directly with the Baroni Center for Government Contracting board members, giving each student Ambassador the opportunity to engage with industry leaders and to participate in the following activities:
- Attend Baroni Center for Government Contracting meetings and events.
- Participate in “Mock” operational meetings lead by industry leaders where Ambassadors will learn how to address real-world issues related to the industry.
- Participate in company site visits and tours. (May be in person or virtual.)
- Opportunity to participate in job shadowing days with high level executives, academic and government leaders in a variety of companies and organizations.
- Attend organization learning and development seminars/lunch & learn events.
- Participate in Student Ambassador round table events where your input will help shape future programs, services and events.
Interested students should be:
- Upper-level undergraduate students (All George Mason students are welcome to apply.)
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with students, faculty, and business leaders
- 2.8 GPA
- Able to commit to attending events and on-site programs throughout semester. While each host organization will have different schedules, we anticipate each ambassador committing to 3-5 events during the semester. A full calendar of events will be provided at the beginning of the semester. Please make every effort to attend when invited.
- Events may be held in person, hybrid or virtual as conditions dictate.

- This program is one of the only places Government, Industry and Academia truly intersect for the benefit of informing each other of better ways to work interdependently while still maintaining independence and privacy.
