Biography

With a joint appointment in the School of Business and the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution, Dr. de Janasz takes a multi-disciplinary approach to teaching leadership, organizational behavior, negotiation, facilitation, and organizational conflict. Before coming to George Mason University, she was the Gleed Distinguished Chair of Business chair at Seattle University, and before that, she taught global executives as Professor of Leadership and Organization Development at IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland. A former Fulbright scholar (Warsaw), Suzanne has published extensively on mentoring, leadership, and work-family in high-quality academic, practitioner, and global news outlets, and is currently working on several research projects exploring work/family issues in the gig economy, CEO learning, and the role of mentors in targets’ response to sexual harassment. In the last year, she published the latest editions of her texts Interpersonal Skills in Organizations (6/e, McGraw Hill) and Negotiation and Dispute Resolution (2/e, Chicago Business Press), and a new book Teaching HRM: An Experiential Approach (Edward Elgar).
