Biography
Serdar Aldatmaz is an Assistant Professor of Finance in the School of Business. His research centers on private equity and venture capital with a specific focus on the real economy implications of those private capital investments. He also studies issues concerning entrepreneurship and innovation.
He teaches courses on corporate finance and private equity at Mason, and has taught corporate finance at UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School, where he won the Outstanding Teaching Award.
Dr. Aldatmaz’s research has been published in leading academic finance journals, including the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and Journal of Corporate Finance.
He received his PhD in Finance from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2013, and his BAs in Economics and Business Administration with highest honors from Koc University in Istanbul in 2008.
