Admission to the Executive MBA program is highly competitive, and is based on a combination of five broad criteria
fit within the program and potential contribution to a collegial learning environment
relevant work experience
leadership potential
letters of recommendation
an acceptable GMAT score (or equivalent)
All applicants are expected to have an undergraduate degree and a minimum of seven years of full time professional work experience. If you are interested in applying, please take a few moments to complete the Pre-Application Form.
The all-inclusive tuition for the Mason EMBA is $72,900. Upon acceptance, we require a $2,500 deposit applicable to the full cost of the program and to reserve a seat in the cohort.
Application Deadlines
Accepting Applications for Fall 2010
Applicants are accepted throughout the year with a deadline of July 1 of each year. Classes start the following August. Early application is advised because enrollment is limited and qualified applicants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Applicant requirements include
A bachelors degree from a recognized university or an approved institution, recognized qualifications equivalent to a degree
A minimum of 7 years of significant full-time work experience is required. Successful applicants generally have between 8 and 30 years of professional experience including recent experience in a leadership role.

Detailing professional work experience, education, extracurricular activities, and community service.
Transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
Official (original or certified) copy of transcripts from every college or university attended. These must be unopened. Certified evaluations must be enclosed if transcripts are from a non-U.S. university. You do not need to request a transcript for coursework completed at George Mason University.
Goal Statement
The goals statement provides an opportunity to communicate your educational and professional goals, and to articulate the importance of earning an Executive MBA in achieving these goals.
Two letters of recommendation from current or former supervisors
Delivered in sealed envelopes, signed across the seal by the person recommending you. Professional recommendations are preferred over academic ones. You are responsible for securing letters of reference from individuals qualified to write about your potential for success in the Executive MBA program.
Official GMAT score
As a general policy, the School of Management requires the GMAT of all applicants, due to the analytical nature of the Mason EMBA. However, the Admissions Committee will consider, on a case-by-case basis, GMAT waiver requests for the EMBA program. Waivers are not automatic, and a brief written request must be submitted outlining the reasons why the Admissions Committee should grant a GMAT waiver.

Interview with director
An application is considered complete when the Executive MBA office has received all of the materials listed above. The final step in the application process is a personal interview with faculty from the School of Management. Admission decisions are sent within 10 days after receipt of your complete application package and the completion of the personal interview.
