Message from the Dean

Jorge Haddock

The School of Management (SOM) at George Mason University continues to garner increasing national and international prominence. This has been primarily due to the impressive interest in our undergraduate and part-time graduate programs, as well as the reputation of our faculty. Moreover, the school has had a significant overall impact on our regional organizations and communities.

SOM has reached this level of accomplishment and success thanks to the contributions of numerous faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of the school. We all are sincerely thankful, but there are many more opportunities ahead for all to contribute.

As we invest in our programs and continue to improve the quality of the overall educational experience, we also plan to expand our regional, national and international reach through collaborative academic programs and the dissemination of our faculty scholarship. We will focus our growth on our full-time graduate programs and executive education offerings.

Additionally, the school will embark in the formation of new centers, starting with a Center for International Business and a Center for Real Estate. These centers will enable the school to attract new resources to support our student and faculty initiatives.

The school has proudly improved its rankings among its peers. Arguably, rankings serve as a validation of the quality of academic programs and their outcomes, and we will continue our aspirations to an increasing reputation via these rankings.

Through continued collaboration, I am looking forward to capitalizing on the opportunities that lie ahead and sharing in the many successes yet to come!
