Matt and Judy Curry are on a roll.
The husband and wife team are two School of Management alumni who put their classroom experience to work every day as they expand Curry’s Auto Service, their highly successful company. Motor Age Magazine named Curry’s Auto as “Top Shop in America” in 2010. Curry’s also won accolades as top shop from Northern Virginia magazine in 2010 and was noted in June as a top 20 Innovator by NOVA EXEC magazine.
The Currys wear their pride on their sleeve when it comes to being Northern Virginia natives. Curry’s Auto Service is a 2011 yearbook sponsor for both the Washington Nationals and the Washington Redskins. They also are currently in the process of making Curry’s Auto an official discounter for students and faculty at George Mason.
Matt and Judy have expanded Curry’s Auto to eight locations in the area, including shops in Arlington, Chantilly, Dulles, Fairfax City, Falls Church, Gainesville, Gaithersburg and Great Falls/Reston. Their newest shop opened its doors in Gaithersburg, Maryland in August, and a ninth store will open in Alexandria in late 2011.
As business school alumni, Matt and Judy understand the importance of building customer relationships and catering to their users’ needs. The company’s online marketing is humorous and high test at the same time. Curry’s utilizes social media extensively to enhance the customer experience far beyond what is typical within the auto repair space, with active fan communities on both Facebook and Twitter. And Curry’s Auto Service is still the ONLY certified female friendly auto repair facility in Northern Virginia.
Kerry Willigan, the School of Management assistant director of graduate career management and employer relations, uses Curry’s services. Her husband comments, "I'm very happy with Curry's Auto Service...I'm picky about my car and the Falls Church location is the only place I trust with my new BMW. I've gone to them for years and have always been completely satisfied with the quality and cost of the service."
When not building their business, the Currys are boating enthusiasts. Matt and Judy also support charitable causes including entrepreneurship at the School of Management.
