Technology Management Alum Appointed TechAmerica Chair

Tom Anderson, a graduate of George Mason School of Management's MS in Technology Management program, has been appointment as Tom Andersonchairman of the public sector of TechAmerica for 2011.

TechAmerica is the leading voice for the U.S. technology industry. Representing approximately 1,200 member companies of all sizes from the public and commercial sectors of the economy, it is the industry's largest advocacy organization and is dedicated to helping members' top and bottom lines. The organization seeks to provide members with innovations to advance business.

Anderson, president of Wyle’s Information Systems Group, will serve the national technology trade association’s board for two years.

“This is an exciting time for the board, as both the government and industry are being challenged to do more with less,” he said. “TechAmerica is the nexus for the public-private partnership in innovation. I look forward to helping TechAmerica build on its proud tradition and prominent position in the government marketplace.”

Anderson has held senior positions with major government information system providers including CSC, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, and Federal Data Corporation. Prior to joining Wyle, Anderson served as president of CSC’s Civil and Health Services Group in the company’s North American Public Sector. At CSC, he directed work for all federal civilian agency work, various state and local organizations, the company’s health services practice and Canadian public sector activities. Previously, he served as vice president at Raytheon Information Solutions, where he led the establishment of a framework for coordination of the company’s disparate federal government information technology offerings. Earlier, Anderson oversaw strategic programs for Northrop Grumman Information Technology and held key leadership positions with Federal Data Corporation and Boeing Computer Services.
