Meet Masonvale, Graduate Student Housing at George Mason

George Mason University is pleased to offer full-time graduate students the opportunity to live on campus in our newest community, Masonvale.

Masonvale is a community of newly constructed, upscale townhouses and apartments designed to offer a high quality residential environment and optimal convenience for Mason faculty, staff, and full-time graduate students. Each apartment home features unique details and offers beautifully finished one, two, and three bedroom floor plans. Graduate students that are interested in living on campus will have the opportunity to select a room within one of these apartment homes to meet their needs while they further their education at Mason.

The Office of Housing and Residence Life has reserved a number of units for graduate students who seek to minimize expenses by sharing unit costs and enjoying a simplified billing structure due to the cost of water and electric being incorporated in the monthly billing. Students have the opportunity to express preferences for specific individuals to be assigned to the same unit. The university will also assist with filling the unit in the event a student does not have preferences.

Graduate students interested in living on campus must fill out the graduate application for housing at Masonvale. The Office of Housing and Residence Life assists students with assignment selection and students then work with Masonvale management to complete the leasing process.

Alex and Vaea Hess are the first MBA students to choose Masonvale. New to the Northern Virginia area, they felt it was the obvious choice while they learned about Mason and Fairfax. They quickly came to appreciate the brand new amenities, 24 hour campus security, free parking, and family oriented lifestyle.

If you wish to learn more about the Masonvale community and see picutures and floorplans, you can browse the information available at This is a great opportunity to enhance your graduate experience!
