Some of the Best Learning Experiences Occur Outside the Classroom

At the School of Management, you have the opportunity to seamlessly connect your studies with the contemporary business environment. High-impact activities outside the traditional classroom setting allow you to integrate theory with practice—to advance your leadership and management abilities. You use your creativity and problem-solving skills to address the kinds of challenges you experience on the job, no matter which industry or what country your career takes you to.

We offer a semester long consulting project that gives you the opportunity to work directly with a partner organization on a business plan, product launch, or market research. This hands-on course allows you to take business theory from the classroom and apply it in a corporate setting.

Depending on the nature of the organizational challenge, you will develop:

  • an analysis of the situation
  • recommendations related to goals and organizational structure
  • a plan of action integrating marketing, human resource development, organizational design, finance and operations and utilizing theories of communication and change management

The program is offered as a three-credit course (MBA 799 Managerial Consulting) under the supervision of a senior MBA faculty member. For a full overview of the consulting course, click here.
