To be eligible for the Mason MBA program, you must have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution or recognized qualifications equivalent to a four year degree and it is recommended to have taken at least one college-level calculus course. Two years of full-time, post baccalaureate professional employment is recommended.
We request that an applicant not submit any documents to the program prior to submitting their application. Please send the documents only after one has applied. Early application is advised since enrollment is limited.
Application Requirements
- Online applicationand $65 application fee ($80 fee for International applicants)
- Full time MBA is a Fall only start and Fairfax campus
- Professional MBA is offered at both Fairfax and Arlington campuses.
- A current résumé
- Official copies of transcripts from all colleges or universities attended
- Official GMAT score OR GRE score (All applicants must submit one of these tests, waivers will not be allowed)
- Two professional letters of recommendation
- A personal career goals statement of 750-1,000 words
- Professional essay of 750-1,000 words (choose one of the two topics below)
- Describe a professional situation where you demonstrated one of the following leadership competencies: visionary, strategic, tactical, focused, persuasive, likeable, decisive, ethical and inspirational.

- Applicants who hold undergraduate degrees from outside the United States must submit the following:
English Proficiency Score (minimum scores: TOEFL = 88, IELTS = 6.5, or Pearson = 59 overall score) We look for these scores to be competitive for admissions. TOEFL=93 and IELTS= 7.0.

An interview is required for applicants for the Traditional MBA program and is by invitation only. We will notify you if you have been selected to interview.
