To be eligble for our MS in Accounting program, you must have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution or have completed 24 college credits in Accounting. The MSA Program is offered full time only.

Early application is advised since enrollment is limited.  Please do not submit any materials/documents prior to submitting an application.

Application Requirements

  • Online application and $65 application fee ($80 for international students)
  • A current résumé
  • Official copies of transcripts from all colleges or universities attended
  • Official GMAT score or GRE score(no requests for waivers will be considered)
  • Two letters of recommendation (professional or academic)
  • A personal statement of 750-1,000 words relating to post-MSA career goals
  • Professional essay 750-1,000 words (choose one of the two topics below)
    • Describe a professional situation where you demonstrated one of the following leadership competencies: visionary, strategic, tactical, focused, persuasive, likeable, decisive, ethical and inspirational.
    • Of Mason’s core values (creativity, rigor, diversity, team, integrity, and global community), which value resonates most with you and why?
  • Supplemental Application Form: All incoming students are required to fill out the supplemental application form. Completed forms can be emailed, faxed, or mailed to the MSA Admissions Office.

An interview is required for applicants for the full-time MSA program and is by invitation only. We will notify you if you have been selected to interview.

No portion of the portfolio is weighted more than another; the admissions committee considers the entire application to ensure that they have a complete profile of a candidate’s professional and academic qualifications.
