Michael Naor joined the information systems and operations management faculty at George Mason University in August of 2005. He received is PhD in operations and management science from the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. He received his BSC from the Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, and his MBA from the Recanati Graduate School of Business Administration, Tel-Aviv University.
Naor's dissertation received the Buffa Award from the Decision Science Institute. Both his teaching and research expertise center on global operations management, operations strategy, organizational and national culture, and quality management. His research findings, published in Decision Sciences Journal, have highlighted the relationship between culture, quality management practices, and manufacturing performance at industrial plants worldwide. In addition, he participated in a study on the implementation of quality management practices in public and private hospitals in the health care industry, published in the Journal of Operations Management.
Prior to beginning his career in higher education, Noar worked in project management for the Ashtrom Group in Tel-Aviv, Israel.
