Catherine Potter has more than 20 years of experience as a corporate and real estate attorney. She is currently Vice President, Secretary, and In House Counsel for Capital Automotive, a real estate investment company. In this capacity she participates in strategic planning and the negotiation of transactions to achieve maximum operating flexibility, conserve capital, and minimize risk exposure. She also provides ongoing training and mentoring to team members in many aspects of the business, including deal structure, leases, construction, financing, documentation terms, and underwriting. Previously she worked as Corporate Secretary and Assistant General Counsel for ORBCOMM Global, a satellite communication firm. Prior work experience included her time as an associate at Sheppard Mullin in San Diego and Fennemore Craig in Phoenix, Arizona. In addition to the above, Catherine served as an Adjunct Professor at the George Mason School of Law, teaching Legal Writing. She is a member of the District of Columbia, Arizona, California, Florida, and New Jersey Bars, and is an in house counsel member of the Virginia Bar.
