Global and Domestic Residencies
The Global EMBA program includes two extended residencies. Each residency is designed to maximize learning in a challenging and exciting experience.
Opening Residency
The opening residency, held at a local resort and conference center, focuses on developing a broad understanding of the economic environment of business and the development of high-performing teams.
Global Residency
The global residency encompasses a 10-day trip to selected cities in Asia, Europe or South America. Professors from local universities provide an introduction to the business environment of each country visited and help prepare students for company visits and meetings with executives from local and multinational firms. Company presentations are delivered by directors and top managers. Housing is provided in business-class hotels, and time is provided for cultural excursions and other activities.
The National Defense EMBA program includes two extended residencies. National Defense EMBA students also have the option of attending the global residency with the Global EMBA students at an additional cost.
Opening Residency
The opening residency, held at a local resort and conference center, focuses on developing a broad understanding of the economic environment of business and the development of high-performing teams.
National Defense Residency
At this residency, students will develop a working knowledge the national defense industry, Congress, and the congressional budget process through a combination of in-class sessions and site visits to Capitol Hill. Students will also gain a familiarity with defense, government, and corporate hierarchies; defense acquisition programs; earned value management; government contracting; export compliance and defense security management processes. In addition, students will gain enhanced skills in business negotiation and techniques, and proficiency in incorporating financial indicators and metrics into critical business decisions.
