The College of Science is seeking students with an interest in business, accounting or finance to apply for a part time position (up to 20 hrs per week) in the Dean’s Office suite for this summer.

Specific Duties include:

• Prepares spreadsheet information to assist with monthly reporting requirements.
• Processes GMU Foundation Vouchers.
• Assists the Finance Team in processing expenditures for the College, including scanning and logging expenditures in a timely manner.
• Assists with delivery of time-sensitive paperwork to offices around campus.
• Maintains detailed and organized records Handles sensitive and confidential employee and budgetary paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assists with special projects and ad hoc requests.

Qualifications and required experience:

• Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel and Word Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently Ability to be a member of a team and meet deadlines
• Interest in the field of finance, accounting or business preferred

Job Description:

• Receive, distribute and enter the Charter Quote Requests according to the established process.
• Prepare and present Charter Reports as directed.
• General administration support for all Charter Dept. needs (copying, filing, etc).
• General office support (answering main Trailways phone line, assisting the president/CEO & other staff as needed) and assist the team with general office projects such as mass mailings, conferences, other meetings.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Basic computer skills required (MS Word, Outlook) as well as Access and Excel preferred.
• Courteous telephone skills and good customer service a must.

• Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Reports to: Charter Services Director who verifies pricing, creates the Trailways corporate quote, including corporate commission, and responds to the customer to secure/sell the trip.

Hours of Employment: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday (Eastern time zone)

Pedorthic Footcare Association (PFA) – Marketing and Communications Intern

JOB SUMMARY:
The PFA Marketing and Communications Intern provides hands on project support and marketing analysis overview for the calculations, summary and completion of PFA’s current professional survey project.  The Intern will support the PFA Executive Director and Editorial, Communications and Marketing Manager with collaboration on the project results, as well as contribute direct assistance with other upcoming marketing programs. The position will require direct responsibility for day-to-day administrative activities involved in calculating survey results, discussing/analyzing survey results and assisting in writing/formatting the final survey abstract and presentation. Other activities and duties in this position may include marketing research and development of new marketing programs.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Working knowledge of office computer and data management systems
• Ability to deal effectively with a wide range of individuals and personalities
• Ability to manage a wide range of simultaneous projects, adhering to deadlines
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Working knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel)
• Strong grasp of calculating raw statistical information and summarizing copy
• Ability to create/link/use Excel spreadsheet
• Background in marketing

Position Effective: Monday, June 3, 2013 – Friday, August 30, 2013
Hours: 8 Hours/Week, M-F  9:00am – 5:00pm
Rate: $11.00/Hour
