Skills:

  • 4-yr college degree, preferred in the area of  software engineering or business with a focus on information systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to talk with end-users and stakeholders about needs, asking the relevant questions to get essential requirements information
  • Analytical ability to evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources and decompose high level information into details
  • Analytical ability to abstract low-level information into a more general understanding of the requirements
  • Analytical ability to distinguish between user requests and solution ideas from the underlying needs
  • Familiar with software development life cycle
  • Familiar with development methodologies for both Waterfall and Agile
  • Familiar with use case approach for capturing software requirements
  • Familiarity with Jira a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Requirements gathering by interviewing various internal stakeholders, customers, and through market research
  • Generating functional requirements documents
  • Facilitate communication of requirements to the technical development teams and providing ongoing clarification of requirements as needed by the development teams
  • Review test plans from quality assurance group to ensure test plans address use case flows of new product features
  • Review user documentation for completeness in describing new product features
  • Document new product features for  the release notes
  • Review and modify as needed, product enhancements descriptions and bug resolution descriptions for maintenance releases
  • Generate detail PowerPoint sides of new product features; slides to be used for training of cross functional teams
  • Conducting training of new product features to cross-functional teams (e.g. implementation and support teams)
  • Maintaining internal product management website
