Bloomberg LP- 2012 Global Data Summer Internship

Bloomberg is looking for motivated and passionate candidates to join our 2012 Global Data Summer Internship Program. This is a twelve week internship where you will receive training across market sectors to help build a foundation of Bloomberg product knowledge, understanding their client base and networking with employees throughout the company. Interns will be working as a Global Data Analyst in a specific sector for the summer.
Global Data is broken down by market sector. Analysts work in teams focusing on equities, fixed income, mutual funds and portfolio holdings, and derivatives. Their scope has recently increased with market demand and now includes new products like Government, Credit and Equity Research.
As a Global Data Analyst, interns will work closely with many departments internally across the company including sales, news and research and development.
Externally, analysts work with clients to provide solutions to their inquiries and also build relationships with some of the most renowned names in finance.
Due to the large number of high level candidates applying, Bloomberg will currently consider your candidacy, only if you include the following information on your application, and the information is subsequently verified:
- Your ability to work full time from 6/01/12 – 08/10/12
- Minimum of a 3.0 GPA in either a Bachelor’s or Graduate level degree
- Graduating in the Spring 2013 or Fall 2012
- Fluency in Excel
In addition, candidates will need to demonstrate the following during the interview process:
- Understanding of the financial markets
- Effective research and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong problem solving skills
Other criteria and skills that will help us evaluate your application, but which are not minimum qualifications, are as follows:
- Recent work experience or internship in Finance, Business or related discipline preferred
- Fluency in more than one language a plus
Because this is an internship, visa sponsorship will only be considered for candidates that possess fluency in one or more of the following languages: Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
