Gill, Daniel

’79, BS in Accounting
Managing Director, Daylight Forensic & Advisory, LLC

Daniel Gill served as an FBI Special Agent for more than 20 years before retiring and taking on his current role at an international consulting and investigative firm, providing forensic accounting, anti-money laundering, and fraud risk management services. He used his Mason degree to meet the qualification needed to become a CPA in the Commonwealth of Virginia and apply to the FBI.

Gill says, “It was a challenge to work my way through college driving a delivery truck, pumping gas, and hanging wallpaper, but in hindsight I wouldn’t have done it any differently. I look back and realize that the combined educational and work experience during those four years prepared me well for a lot of the hard work that I was able to handle during my professional years.”

“I made a lot of friends [at Mason], had some terrific professors, and still found time to have some good times there that I will remember for a long time. Enjoy your time now…because life gets real serious soon enough,” Gill advises current students.
