The Mason Next Steps for Entrepreneurs program provides you the opportunity to receive expert feedback and insight on your business from Mason faculty, research experts, and alumni. Designed especially for faculty developing new intellectual property, this program is open to students, alumni, and any aspiring entrepreneur in the Mason business community.
Entrepreneurs are asked to provide background information on their business concept, market strategy, and any available intellectual property or inventions. The Next Steps program then tailors a panel of experts to provide feedback on the business strategy. The panel may include School of Management faculty, as well as other Mason faculty experts and area business volunteers from Mason alumni and the Mason Business Alliance. The result is an intensive half day review session—a “Board of Review”—that can provide invaluable, honest insights into your business. At the end of the process, the Next Steps program can refer you to a variety of area professionals, including attorneys, accountants, marketing consultants and engineering consultants, who can continue to assist you as you grow your business.
Among the many available strategies we examine are:
• Licensing new IP to an existing commercial venture
• Developing joint ventures and partnerships
• Developing a business plan for a new venture
• Matchmaking with qualified CEOs and management team members
There is a small fee for participating in the full review panel. Contact Jim Wolfe, to submit an inquiry for more information or to complete an application, at no cost, to schedule an appointment to learn more.
