Mehta joined the information systems and operations management faculty at George Mason in August 2005 after being on the faculty at the University of Connecticut. His teaching takes a business oriented approach to technical subject matters such as network design, data communications, data warehousing and business intelligence.
Mehta's dissertation focused on understanding the dynamics of electronic auction markets. In addition to his research on electronic auction and retail markets, his current research includes application of data mining techniques for knowledge discovery from time series data. He has applied genetic algorithms for research in financial forecasting and is currently researching the ability to discover patterns for use by network security and intrusion detection systems.
In 2004, Mehta received a major research grant as part of a research team exploring internet data research intelligence services.
Mehta received his baccalaureate education at the Indian Institute of Technology. |
