David A. Kravitz is professor of management in the School of Management at George Mason University. He teaches courses on diversity in organizations, organizational behavior, and leadership.
His previous academic appointments have been at Rice University, Florida International University, and the University of Kentucky. He spent a year as a Senior Fulbright Professor at the University of Freiburg in Germany and has worked for a consulting firm.
Kravitz has given over fifty presentations at national and international conferences. He has published over fifty monographs, chapters, and articles in a variety of outlets, including the Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Academy of Management Learning & Education, and the Journal of Socio-economics. He serves on the editorial boards of Personnel Psychology, Journal of Applied Psychology, Group & Organization Management, and Equal Opportunities International.
Kravitz's current research focus is on diversity education, which includes both classes in higher education and corporate training.He is interested in learning what works and in bridging the gap between research and practice. He has also published work in several other areas, including beliefs about and reactions to affirmative action programs, procedural justice, bargaining, and context effects in performance appraisals.
Kravitz has a BA from Carleton College, an MA and a PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana, and postdoctoral training at Bowling Green State University. |
